How to Make the Very Best, Fresh Ramen Noodles

There are many different ways to make our very fresh, instant noodles from the comfort of your own home. Below, we’re covering how to make ramen on the stovetop, so if the microwave is more your speed, here’s how to make ramen in the microwave

First, open your ramen and separate the oil and seasoning packets from the fresh, steam-dried noodles. Then, stick a pot of water on the stove to boil - about 2 cups per package. While you’re waiting for the water to boil, you can execute a checklist of much-needed relaxation techniques; release the shoulders, unclench the teeth, put on a soundtrack of ocean waves, thunderstorms, or Lizzo affirmations…you get the picture.

When the water is boiling, you’re ready to cook the noods.

Making Our Very Fresh Ramen Noodle Soup Cup

If you’re using a Mike’s Mighty Good ramen noodle soup cup, *carefully* pour the hot water up to the fill-line on the inside of the cup. Place a flat plate or a piece of aluminum foil on top of the cup to trap the steam, and let it sit for about 6 minutes.

Do you like your noodles a little more on the chewy/gummy side? Check on them before 6 minutes is up. If you like them on the soft/squishy side, leave them in for a couple extra minutes.

Or…

Making Our Very Fresh Ramen Noodle Pillow Pack

If you opted for the Mike’s Mighty Good ramen noodle pillow pack, gently plop the noodles into the boiling water. Wait about 3 minutes, then carefully check the noodles with a fork to test the done-ness. If they’re cooked to your liking, take them off the stove, and pour out any excess water.

Next, stir in the oil packet and seasoning pouch, and mix it all together thoroughly.

Now, you can stop here and go enjoy your very fresh noodles right away (well, after your noodles have stopped boiling, obviously) or you can throw in some ramen toppings to really tickle your tastebuds. We’re talking chashu pork, a “jammy” ramen egg (or two?) or even something totally unexpected like a handful of brussel sprouts. Hey - don’t knock it till you try it.
