The Mike’s Mighty Good team is all about creating the best instant ramen, which is why we partnered up with Sudwerk, a local brewery that is tirelessly working to perfect their craft of the American lager.

Tucked away under an overpass sits a local Davis brewery loved by its community for its craft beer and laid-back ambience. Sudwerk Brewing Co., founded back in 1989, is setting out to redefine what people think about the American lager. Rooted in traditional German brewing practices with a Californian twist, they’re creating an innovative craft lager that is full of flavor and different from anything else in the region.

After a long day, there’s nothing that quite satisfies like a cold glass of beer and a steaming bowl of ramen. That’s why we teamed up with Sudwerk to bring you our top 3 ramen and beer pairings.

1) Chicken Ramen with Bike Party Pilsner! chicken flavor craft ramen soup

The richness of the ramen comes from the right blend of savory herbs and onion that enhances the depth of the chicken flavor. Pair that with the Bike Party Pilsner which is light, bright and crisp. It wipes the palette clean and leaves you wanting another bite of ramen. A successful pairing is one that is classic, approachable, and brings you a new experience to familiar flavors.

2) Vegetarian Vegetable Ramen with Raspberry Funhouse (kettle sour).

The vegetable ramen has a hint of spice with deep umami flavors from the cabbage and mushrooms. The tart and subtly sweet Berliner Weiss is bubbly and dry. Sudwerk adds about 210 lbs of raspberry to create this sour beer. One sip of the sweet and tart Raspberry Funhouse leaves you wanting another bite of earthy vegetable ramen.

3) Spicy Beef Ramen paired with DenaliLand.

Bring on the heat! Sudwerk’s IPL (India Pale Lager) is packed with a bright, floral hop aroma and showcases low bitterness.  The spicy beef ramen packs a punch with its spiciness. The residual warming is washed away by the refreshing hop aromatics. The citrus hop character slightly enhances the heat in the ramen so we’re really bringing on the heat with this pairing.

Here at Mike’s Mighty Good, we love to grow with and support local businesses in their craft. Our community inspires us to be the best we can be. While we’re hard at work perfecting our craft, we’re setting out to find more locals who are also tirelessly working to perfect their craft.
