Crispy Shrimp Ramen

We’re always excited to see a seafood ramen when we go out to our favorite ramen restaurants. But, it’s always good to have an at-home fix in your back pocket! Luckily we’ve got our high-quality craft instant ramen to play around with.

Our fried garlic chicken ramen felt like the perfect base for this bowl. Rich, garlicy broth (without too much salt) complements every topping here. Crispy shrimp add just the right texture and that wonderful seafood flavor. Add on your favorite veggies and a soft-boiled egg for ramen perfection in less than 20 minutes!

Crispy Shrimp Ramen

First thing’s first, grab three medium sized bowls. In one, add a cup of flour. In the second, beat 2 eggs. In the last bowl, add a cup of panko breadcrumbs. One at a time, use your hands, a fork, or your chopsticks to dip shrimp into the flour, then the egg, and then the breadcrumbs. Make sure each shrimp is nice and coated with breadcrumbs to achieve crispy perfection!

Next, get a pan hot over medium-high heat. Heat up 1-2 tablespoons of oil (we used olive oil). Add your coated shrimp to the pan, making sure not to overcrowd the pan – 6 at a time should be good! Once they’re golden on the bottom (about 2 minutes), flip them over and get the other side perfectly golden, too. Remove them from the pan and place them on paper towels to reduce excess oil.

Now for the ramen – grab a pot, add 1 ¾ cup of water and let it come to a boil. Drop in your Mike’s Mighty Good noodles and boil until you can break the nest apart with a fork. Once your noodles are cooked how you like them, remove your pot from the heat and add in your oil and flavor packets.

While our ramen is cooking, we prepared our soft-boiled eggs. To get the perfect jammy yolk on your egg, fill a pot with enough water so that eggs can be submerged. Bring to a boil, carefully add in your eggs, and keep it at a low boil for 6 and a half minutes. Transfer your eggs to an ice bath and wait until they are no longer warm to the touch. Peel the eggs and either slice them open or add them whole and break the egg open in your bowl for a yolky broth.

Once your ramen is ready, transfer to your favorite bowl and get ready to add the toppings (our favorite part)!

To plate your ramen just like ours, try to give each topping a section in your bowl. This keeps everything neat and photo-ready! We first added 5 of our crispy shrimps, then a few tablespoons of chopped, fresh green onion. In case you haven’t noticed, this is a definite staple for almost all of our ramen creations. We added some dried mushrooms and a soft-boiled egg for added savory, earthy flavor. Don’t forget to top your bowl off with some extra texture! We went with black sesame seeds to add some contrast and create the perfect bite.
