Garlic Sesame Noodles

Summer might not be the most ideal ramen weather, but every season is noodle season! Did you know you can still use your entire pack of Mike’s Mighty Good without making soup? We grabbed some quick ingredients and used our Fried Garlic Chicken ramen flavor and oil packets to make a sauce for our noodles. Make a soft-boiled egg to add a little yolk to your bowl and you’re on your way to summer ramen perfection.

For this recipe you’ll only need about 15 minutes and 10 ingredients. You can vary the garnishes and toppings to fit whatever you’re in the mood to eat!

Garlic Sesame Noodles

First, you’ll need to make your ramen noodles. Add them to a pot of boiling water and cook until you’re able to break the noodles apart with a fork. Drain the water and set your noodles aside for later on.

We’re also adding a soft-boiled egg to our finished bowl. You can make these ahead of time if you don’t want to risk messing up your cook time, or if you’re a pro make it while you’re cooking the rest of the meal. Either way, this is how we make our perfectly jammy-yolked soft-boiled eggs.

Okay, now onto the sauce that makes this noodle recipe amazing. In a small mixing bowl, combine ¼ cup soy sauce, 1 tsp brown sugar, and a 1 tbsp sriracha. You can add more brown sugar or sriracha to taste depending on the flavor you’re going for. Pour in the fried garlic chicken flavor packet and the oil packet that comes in the pillow pack. Whisk everything together until you’re left with a well-combined sauce.

Next, put a pan over medium-high heat. Add a tablespoon or so of your favorite cooking oil (we like to use avocado oil). Slice up about one quarter of a small yellow onion – again use more or less depending on what you want. Sauté the onion with a teaspoon or so of minced garlic until the onion and garlic are soft and fragrant.

Reduce the heat to low. Pour the sauce into the pan and add the cooked noodles. Start tossing everything together and keep going until the noodles are completely coated in sauce! Transfer saucy noodles and onion into your favorite ramen bowl. You’re almost ready to feast!

Lastly, chop up a stalk of green onion and sprinkle it over the noodles. Add one of your soft-boiled eggs. Garnish the meal with toasted sesame seeds and fried shallots. If you’re feeling a bit extra, add the whole egg (not sliced) to the bowl and squeeze into it with your chopsticks. Let the yolk make your noodles extra saucy and thank us later.
