However, ramen noodles can have a very bad rep. Why? Well, the answer is multifaceted, but here’s one reason: Most instant noodles available on the market today are fried. Mike’s Mighty Good ramen noodles are steamed (and organic!)– and that makes all the difference in the world.

You know those ramen noodle packets on the bottom shelf at the grocery store? The ones you can buy with about a dime? But like many things in life- especially when it comes to packets of noodles- you get what you pay for.
Here’s a little-known fact about instant ramen: most companies deep-fry their noodles to make them last longer. Why do they do this? The main reason is that it’s cheaper and faster to fry them and that noodles that last longer are easier to ship. Some manufacturers also think that it makes it easier to cook the noodles, but the truth is- steaming instant noodles makes them the perfect amount of chewy and springy- just like they’d be at a ramen restaurant. Like a fine wine, some things just can’t be rushed.
Some people erroneously think that all instant ramen is unhealthy, because it often is- according to a handful of doctors. But before you click away, here’s what sets our instant ramen noodles apart from the rest.
The Mike’s Mighty Good Difference
When our founders first came up with the idea to start a ramen company, they began with one simple question: “Why should the ramen in a store taste different from the ramen in a ramen bar?”
It wasn’t all easy breezy- it actually took many years and lots of trial-and-error to get our perfectly chewy, organic noodles just right. Finally, in 2017 we rolled out our delicious, steamed ramen to the rest of the world, and the noodle scene has never been the same.

One reason why many instant ramen noodles are so bad for you is the manufacturing process. In order to make a noodle brick that lasts for a really long time- but cooks in a matter of minutes- the noodles are deep-fried in oil.
We make our small batch, organic ramen noodles from scratch every day, and are committed to always providing fresh steamed (never fried!) instant ramen. Once you taste our ~perfectly~ chewy noodles, you’ll never go back to the noodles of your college days.

Our Ramen is Made with Simple Ingredients
When you’re in a hurry, it’s easy to neglect checking the ingredients list on your guilty pleasure foods. But if you look closely, many popular packaged noodles are made with refined flour (not great), fried in palm oil (really not great), and barely constitute real food (yikes).
Our steamed noodles are certified Organic by the Q.A.I, and are made with 4 simple ingredients (that aren’t totally impossible to pronounce): organic wheat flour, organic potato starch, water, and sea salt. That’s it.
Not-Too-Salty Ramen Noodles
Have you ever felt bloated by an overly-salty meal? Been there, done that.
Based on a recommended 2,000 daily calorie diet (because everyone adheres to that, right?) eating one pack of regular ramen noodles makes up about half of your recommended daily intake of saturated fat.
That’s why we made our ramen a little different.
Our homemade ramen flavor packets are packed (hehe) with robust taste- no matter which flavor you choose. Mike’s Mighty Good ramen contains 40% less sodium per ounce than the leading brands of ramen, making these lower-sodium treats the perfect option if you’re trying to watch your salt intake.

If you’re sticking to a vegetarian or vegan diet, it can be impossibly hard to find food that can be made quickly, without sacrificing taste and quality. No Preservatives in this Ramen!
Onto one of the more science-y aspects of steamed instant noodles versus fried instant noodles.
If you look closely at the ingredient list, most fried noodle packs contain something called tertiary-butyl hydroquinone (or TBHQ). This is a sneaky, synthetic compound that some companies (not ours!) use to increase the shelf life of their packaged foods. But actually, the Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI) urges people to avoid TBHQ, which is just one of the many reasons why we decided to keep it out of our own noodles.
