Japanese Gyudon Ramen
Gyudon: a Japanese rice bowl topped with beef and onions in a sweet and savory sauce. In this recipe, we're making a Japanese gyudon bowl – but with ramen instead of rice.
This gyudon ramen features thinly sliced beef, onions, and a delicious sauce made with sake. You'll be craving this comforting ramen bowl all winter long.
For this recipe, we're using a cup of Mike's Mighty Good spicy beef ramen. Start by cooking just the noodles, leaving the flavor packets aside for now.
Our beef ramen is savory, just the right amount of spicy, and not too salty. All of our ramen flavors are made with organic ramen noodles and simple ingredients you can pronounce.
Meanwhile, in a pot, cook garlic and onions until fragrant and onions are softened. Add sake, soy sauce, sugar, water, and ½ MMG soup base packet, stirring until combined. Add the thinly sliced beef to the pot and saute until cooked through.
Place the cooked and drained noodles in a bowl, topping with the beef and onion mixture. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds and enjoy!
Mike’s Mighty Good noodles are steamed, not fried. By starting with the best noodles, you’ll get a perfect bowl of ramen.
